When I got here today, the patio was fully cleared! There is so much space back there now. You can walk right up to the back walls, doors, and windows and look in. The upstairs staircase fell into the downstairs stair well. I will post a picture to illustrate it, but you have to look very closely to see one sitting on top of the other.
As I was looking at the walls, Rocky was explaining how you can judge the era/when something was built by looking at the materials and style. On the walls by the kitchen we are asking lots of questions!! He pointed out a few of the rocks look like they were painted white with limestone paint, While others are covered with a plaster. You can also see a definite line between what appears to be 2 different sets of rock (i.e. 2 different time periods/additions ). These are all clues in figuring out each section of this old house in "basic Brey language"...No confirmations, just interesting details to guide the discovery process. :) I'll update more later!!
