Inventive Thinking

Today I raked out the area by the tree line in the side yard. There are a ton of broken old sticks, logs, and dead leaves on top of all the myrtle and pachysandra. There are charming little deer trails through this area so I cleared them out a bit more.
Roger and rocky worked on clearing more stumps (surprise!! I feel like I write that every day).
Roger created the most useful attachment for the backhoe today. He had been researching additional tools/equipment for the backhoe rent/buy to help us with landscaping and clearing. He brilliantly made this "smoother thing" (we don't have a name for it yet, any ideas are welcome) out of purple heart wood. It worked great!!! It is solid and works efficiently for piling, smoothing, and clearing. With this template we can add rakes to it or extend it for wider clearance!! He is amazing! :)
While we were using the new attachment thing on the brush by the ice house area, rocky found one of his old horse bridle buttons!! It is beautiful --very fancy with a green background and the horse in the middle. He has 2 at home and never knew where the 3rd one was...he found it today!! All these years later!! How incredible is that? Mary and I think that when his old room fell in (right side of the house) it spilled right out. It sure is a nice thought!! Hello goosebumps!!!

Here are some pictures of the latest "toy", the area I was working on today, and Rocky's horse pin. I apologize if they are out of order... Still learning how to work it from my phone :)
